new river
I have moved my work to a lovely, clean river near Newbury. My current experiment is keeping me busy and so I have no time for anything (sadly including visiting all your blogs). Working amongst the trouts, graylings and ranunculae (or is it Ranunculaceae ?), though, is a real treat. Yesterday we even saw a swimming snake! I didn't manage to snap it...so all I can show you is a little ranunculus blossom poking out of the water:

That's got to be one of the most fun jobs ever - plashing around with the wildlife and buttercups! It presents some unique angles for photography, too :)

Love that name.
A beautiful photo: whatever those rich red bubbles are on the bottom, they are quite nice, especially among the green guck.
Me, too, wondering what that red thing floating...I am just curious, ranunculus in water? Or maybe they are just different from the ranunculus grown in the Flower Fields in San Diego.
Isn't that wonderful? How nature works indeed!

This is a beautiful shot. The little reddish things-are they leaves?-floating on the water remind me of breakfast cereal! Sorry, that's not a beautiful image, but yours is!

I like wild flowers - so tiny and fresh and strong! I hate water snakes - we have a lot of those in NC
