British summer

The barbecue summer, (now infamously) forecast by the UK Met Office in April, has sadly not materialised . The woman below, though, is making the best of some 5 precious minutes of real sunshine:

The daily chase for a few minutes of sunshine has been the one thing I remember best about summer in Britain in recent years...

I think Robin's Summer Stock Sunday will have a lot of summer stock from sunnier climes.

What a wonderful capture. She really is basking in the sun. Hope you get a few more rays your way.

Love this shot!

I don't think I ever noticed the sun or lack of it until I moved to England. I'm still loving Cornwall despite the rain...it does keep everything wild and green. which are tradeoffs worth making in my opinion.

Notice the other walkers are wearing short sleeve shirts and this woman has on long sleeves in the sun:) Fun contracts in sun and shade.

That's a wonderful photo. I know you have to grab the sun when you can get it there....we've got a surplus here and I'd gladly send you some, if only I could figure out how!

The encroaching shade really drives your point home - great image!

I hope you have some sunnier days ahead. (Actually, I hope we both too - New England has been terribly soggy and gray as well this summer. I'm glad I got in plenty of sunshine before I came over here.)

LOL!!

I only laugh the laugh of the east coast Canadian who also cowers like a vampire at the infrequent rays of sunshine...
