I have moved my work to a lovely, clean river near Newbury. My current experiment is keeping me busy and so I have no time for anything (sadly including visiting all your blogs). Working amongst the trouts, graylings and ranunculae (or is it Ranunculaceae ?), though, is a real treat. Yesterday we even saw a swimming snake! I didn't manage to snap it...so all I can show you is a little ranunculus blossom poking out of the water:

That's got to be one of the most fun jobs ever - plashing around with the wildlife and buttercups! It presents some unique angles for photography, too :)
ranunculus blossom
Love that name.
A beautiful photo: whatever those rich red bubbles are on the bottom, they are quite nice, especially among the green guck.
Me, too, wondering what that red thing floating...I am just curious, ranunculus in water? Or maybe they are just different from the ranunculus grown in the Flower Fields in San Diego.
Isn't that wonderful? How nature works indeed!
Thanks Bim for the quick answer.. Hehehe, took half a day off, so here I am tinkering in my computer, waiting for the link to pop up! I also ask permission from her if I could post the photo, giggles! She said yes!
That's a beautiful flower. Such a peaceful shot.
a beautiful shot...good thing you weren't able to take a shot at the snake. i'm loving this flower.:P
Amazing!
Now that is a cool picture!
Beautiful shot.
This photo is quite wonderful. I truly enjoy the flower standing tall amongst all the water plants.

Great to be able to get your feet wet as you work.
Lovely little flower the center looks so delicate. Have fun in your new area!
This is a beautiful shot. The little reddish things-are they leaves?-floating on the water remind me of breakfast cereal! Sorry, that's not a beautiful image, but yours is!
Very neat photo! Are they still blooming there? Ours are all seedheads now.
PS - Thanks for the bit of poem about Adlestrop. It made me smile. ;-)
I like wild flowers - so tiny and fresh and strong! I hate water snakes - we have a lot of those in NC
Wow this one is a keeper, its perfect.
Have a great day
