making hay

Making hay used to be one of the big summer favourites when I was a kid. I just loved the smell, and the action, and then sitting on the trailer in the hay all happy (albeit sweaty and itchy) when all was done. Nowadays I have an allergy, but I still love to look at it from the distance:

Visit Robin's Summer Stock Sunday and have a look at all the beautiful summer scenery there.

I love to see hay all bundled up and waiting to be taken away. And the brush 'fences' are a favorite, too. Great shot.

I love the layers in this shot. We have field, then tractor with a change of atmosphere, then lots of broken by lines plots of land, and the sky is only in our imagination. Great composition and depth.

Great shot. It's the same here, men and machines methodically cutting, baling, and hauling, so there will be food for the animals in the winter.

I've never seen haymaking before. I love your photo. I can see that all the fields that were so green when I was there in June are now brown and golden; it looks rather warm and dusty. I can see that it would be bad for your allergy!

Beautiful shot - I can almost smell the hay and feel the hay dust rising.

one of the smells that can instantly take me back to childhood is that of freshly mown hay. Though the fields look quite different here in America. I've always had a yearning to visit England.

That's a great shot, and very atmospheric. I love the colours of this time of year, just as you have them here.
