Nature is endlessly interesting and shows that we all effect one another, a late rain, the right amount of warmth and light and who knows how many blossoms may occur. Lovely post. Spirithelpers
I know it happens every year - that plants suddenly produce unseasonal flowers - but I'm always surprised, none the less, as if I've never seen it happen before.
I started my working life as a film maker. Then I began to feel useless and became a scientist instead. I love my new job but I can't give up cameras completely. Now I have accumulated so many photos that they're quite squashed in their digital box - so please click on them for instant liberation. If you want to know what cameras I use you have to click to see the complete profile.

Very lovely!
The flower is sweet, the bee loves it! Love the detailed shot!
The late flowers could be the residue of underdeveloped buds for late fruitage?
Was there a lonish dry spell> That would account for the second flowering. Nice shot.
That's a great shot. I love unexpected blooms at unexpected times.
Your question about the late flowering apple tree??
Nature always surprises us ;-)
Great picture!!
Please forgive me if I'm repeating myself - my comment disappeared!
It's a lovely shot - most unusual. Serendipity again!
How unusual, but for whatever reason the hover fly does seem to be enjoying the bloom. Lovely photo.

It is an odd sight - but the apples are quite early this yearso maybe the tree's a little confused as to what it's meant to be doing..?
A lovely shot, Bim. I like the bee!
Very strange indeed! If I hadn't seen this photo I would not have believed it!
Well captured! You have a good eye to spot this. I've heard of citrus trees having blooms and fruit at the same time, but never an apple.
Thanks for sharing your unusual photo.

Lovely post.

W>hatever the reason is, it makes a very pretty picture, like Mother Nature wanted to decorate the apples on that tree one more time!
Wonderful photo, thank you for sharing it.
That is one apple tree that should be recognized for perseverance! Very natural look - with the web, the bug and the fruit!
I think our weather is so strange now that the plants don't know what time of year it is! Lovely shot.
Janice.

And I'm always un-nerved by it too.
Terrific photography of nature's wonders. Very touchable image.
