British Summer, part II

When it's NOT raining (and I'm not complaining for once: we had two gorgeous days...) the best thing about summer are the long walks at weekends.
Sometimes, though, British right of way - and how it's signposted - can get rather confusing:

If a signpost isn't clear the way to go is probably straight ahead - that's apparently what these women thought, who had missed the REAL path alongside the field and so had opted to walk right through it:

For more summer scenes head over to Robin's Summer Stock Sunday and Scenic Sunday .

It was a great surprise to realize how deep is this green filed. I so want to follow the women. On a second thought - are there any snakes living in the area? I'm scared of those! Those clouds are fabulous / looks like the birthplace of all clouds!

Beautiful pictures. The women are walking knee deep in wildflowers, wow.

The field just expands all around those women--are you sure they made a mistake? It would tempt me, even if it was the wrong way!

Holy smokes those are some tall flowers! I'd never guess without people to judge them by....unless they are really, really short people? hee hee

Walking through all those lovely wild flowers might have been seen as the best option! I also might have taken it!

Such beautiful scenery - looks like it comes right out of a Jane Austen movie.

Harder walking that way but it certainly made for a wonderful photo opportunity! Gorgeous shot.

Yay for your beautiful sunny days, I hope more are in store for you in the days to come.

I love the signpost. I've noticed that in Germany, signposts often tell you where you'll get to if you follow the path, and even how far it is - they don't just tell you that it _is_ a public footpath. I guess you're supposed to have a nice big OS map with you, which you can open up and get all blown about while you find which square you're standing in until you discover your part is on the other side. The field-tramplers looks perfect, too, even if the farmer wouldn't have enjoyed the view as much as we do. xxx
