Watery gloom

Here's the ferry port of Calais on a foggy April evening:

I think ports are fabulously scenic...but then I come from a town with a big port, so I suspect I suffer the effects of early brainwashing.

And it was a foggy day! The streetlights makes so nice reflections in the water, and the fog makes it all a bit mysterious! Lovely shot!

I totally agree! I may be biased too because I grew up in island with a beautiful view of the ocean and sunsets from the local port.

I think all of us who grew up near water share the same bias! I really like how the lights reflect on the water. Great photo.

Nicely Captured. I half expect to see a ghost ship out there in the fog.

I love this image, and I agree with you about ports. Of course, I am a coastal dweller, and daughter of a seafarer, so I'm probably brainwashed, too!

Monochromic light brume against the backdrop of those fading neon lights in their predominating reflections upon the serenity of watery environ - all in an excellent portrait. Shhh...that's the poetic side of me. lol. Can't help it!

Not being so fascinated with ports I still think this is a fabulous shot. Something mysterious about a foggy seascape that tickles my imagination.

"Mist-ically" beautiful and the calmness of the waters and soft lighting makes it even look so "mystical"
