biofilm reflections

This is a wildly growing biofilm reflected by the water surface (is the water surface seen from the other side still the water surface?). The water it is growing in is very clean, so these microbes are actually good guys:

Thanks to James for hosting Weekend Reflections.

Really neat, I would never have figured out what this was without your explanation!
Thanks for your comment, and yes, there are many residences along this stretch of water, and many of the people who live there are able to afford private docks. But the county owns the road, so I can enjoy the view and share it with others for free!

I am really amazed by this really cool picture. I stare and stare and I feel like my eyes are having tricks played on them.
Very nicely done!

Gets my vote for most ingeniously photographed refection.

I'm not quite sure either - is it shot from below the water surface? (And I know what a biofilm is)
