heracleum in the sky

Cow parsnip is ubiquitous at the moment. I like its looks - but it is irritating to the skin (and looks very similar to the much more poisonous hemlock). Here it teamed up with a cloud for a sight that pleased my eye:

I love the greenery in this shot, sort of a spider's eye view. A lot of insects seem to like cow parsley too, and I usually end up taking several dried stems+seedheads home with me in the autumn.

About the ants nest - I didn't sit in it! Just noticed a lot of swarming ants when I was photographing some flowers - and decided to beat a hasty retreat :)

Flower an clouds with the same form! That is clever! Great perspective - and a real summershot!

It's a beautiful photo. I love the angle, as if they're reaching up to the sky.

Love the way the shapes are similar. This must be the familiar view of small creatures!

I think Cow Parsnip is a handsome plant. It doesn't grow as thickly here in Canada as it looks like it does in your photo. Neat!

Cow Parsley rarely gets a second look but it certainly comes across in a different light in this lovely shot.

You certainly have a photographer's eye. It is an amazing image because you saw the cloud, and then shot the Cow Parsnip from a different angle. Great job!

I like shots taken that way. Down on the ground a flower as the foreground.
