You asked if the frame in mine was stone and I'm not sure. It's the entrance to a courtyard between buildings and looks like granite but I'm really not sure what the material is.

I've just been catching up as I've had a busy week and no time to visit blogs - love the picture inside the flumes! I was talking with a scientist friend yesterday who'd just been to a conference where she heard some really interesting talks about algae and their growth cycles and free radicals. I know nothing about this and was fascinated.
