Some weekends ago I spotted this nest on a pylon which I passed under. I find it quite annoying to stand underneath all that buzzing electricity - I somewhat admired the bird and wondered if the chicks have all turned out to be hyperactive.

What a place to build a home! I guess hyperactive is the least of their problems! Let's hope they survived!

Was that a raptor's nest? We have bald eagles and osprey which have similar looking nests. They don't seem to care if they use the top of a dead tree or a power pole!
Well spotted! Even without the added interest of the nest, it makes a good, graphic shot with the pylon set against the blue sky.

Strange place to nest but I suppose it's pretty safe from predators. All that buzzing can't be good for their ears though!

I never thought about the sound before in relation to the nests. You see bird nests all around electrical towers and poles. Like you, I couldn't stand the buzzing.
I very much like the photo but your remarks add a surprising touch of menace - as if the chicks will be zapped like Marvel characters and Hulk sized birds will soon be flapping around the countryside.

I agree, don't spend too much time in that buzzing, but the birds do not seem to mind. I often wonder about all the TV signals and radio waves just coursing through us at all times. We seem OK, somehow.
