guilty pleasures

All my life I've loved being on boats. I'm not a good swimmer but there's nothing greater than stopping by in a little cove to hang out, enjoy the view, read a little, sleep a little and dip into crystal waters in between. These outings, even though just once year, do make me feel guilty, seeing that most motor boats are terrible fossil fuel consumers and general polluters.

Here, however, is the end of a lazy afternoon, the captain ready to start and the dog tied up so that she won't fall into the water while the boat speeds towards the harbour to take us back to dinner.

For a range of summer pleasures visit Summer Stock Sunday and Scenic Sunday.

Looks like a great adventure - big waters scare me - so I enjoy the view from land :) The dog seems at home on that boat and happy. May be it was the drink in that glass :)

The dog is adorable - if a litte apprehensive looking!

Wonderful - love the top, with the tiny boat and wide sea, and the bottom, showing the relaxed dog. What a great way to enjoy summer.

A huge amount of ocean to sail in, looks dreamy.
Dog must enjoy the big adventure too. Love his beard and whiskers.

There's nothing like being out on a boat on a summer afternoon. It just can't be beat.

Love the sailboat photo, great composition, it really highlights the vastness of the ocean and the tranquility of being out there on your own.

You should come to Cornwall for a sail with us sometime. John is off to do a bit of sailing this morning in fact while I stay home to finish editing some wedding photographs.

We never use much fuel...mostly just the wind...so you could enjoy guilt free time on the water.

Wow! I love going on boats! I know the waves and the motion make some people a little queasy or uneasy, but I just love the feeling. So calming!! Looks like you had a beautiful weather for your boat trip, too!!! Happy SUmmer Stock Sunday!!

Oh...I love these photos. I too love going out on the water on a boat. We have a little Boston Whaler and it is so enjoyable to get out and explore the water and islands. One of life's little pleasures! Cute dog!
