I don't go often, but it does have the quality of a backdrop. It's quite dramatic.

Glorious sky - haven't been to the opera since I was a small child though!

I'm not a fan of opera, but this shot is beautiful and quite dramatic enough for a backdrop!
Going to the Opera is one of my long time dream to sit down there and watch and listen. Only, it's too expensive for me.
And I love the rarity of the shade of this sunset. Marvelously purplish!
