unknown flower...
These beautiful flowers are blossoming everywhere at the moment. I am - alas - botanically challenged (if not outright lazy) and don't know their name.

What a beautiful flower! At first I thought it was Hibiscus....but then, no! I am a bit botanically challenged myself (oups - maybe I shouldn't reveal that! :)), so I really don't know. But I know when a flower is beautiful! :)

I do believe this wonderful lively photo is of a 'hollyhock'. Wow you sure did honor it's beauty with this image!
My husband John said it's a Hollyhock so I googled it and I feel sure he's correct based on the images I saw...beautiful lighting.
I believe that might be Hollyhocks. I would love to know for sure.

Oh, the light through those delicate petal is gorgeous.
I believe the flower is a hollyhock, and its a particularly nice one. I used to grow double flowering Hollyhocks but this single is perfect.

In English hollyhock, in German Stockrose and botanically they belong to the family of Malvaciae...after that little brain drain, your photo is just gorgeous and as long as you enjoy the flower, I am sure it will forgive you for not calling it by its proper (though man invented) name. I wonder what it calls itself?

This flower is gorgeus any way and it's a good short.The sun comes backside and it gives all differency to the picture.
Hollyhocks. That's what I learned recently, I saw them in France too, they come in all kinds of colours, we call them "stokroos" in Dutch.
Your macro picture is stunning, I love the detail, the light and the shadows on the delicate flower petals and the DOF. Just lovely.
Usually the Sun hides the stars - in this case you manage to make the Sun reveal a star! Very fairy sunny flower!

That's an awesome shot. I absolutely love the way the light filters through the petals and shows the shadow of the back of the flower.
